Welcome to my webpage!
Silu /silʊ/ is a scientific naturalist trying to understand the diversity of life while seeking conservation strategies in the 6th extinction.
Biodiversity science is not only intriguing, but also therapeutic and practical for our society in the mist of climatic and biodiversity crisis. I study the genomic "footprints" of hybridization, adaptation, and reproductive isolation in various temporal and spatial scales, with the ultimate mission being
understanding and maintaining biodiversity in the changing world.

I organize Speciation & Introgression Seminar-Discussion Group. This is a weekly discussion group focus on speciation & introgression with 450+ scientists from all career stages (from anywhere in the world) working on either/both of the process(es) to establish new ideas, project improvements, and maybe future collaborations.
It is currently in the hibernation mode as I am hunting for a tenure track job, but will be awakened soon (hopefully in September 2023). Please feel free to signup for the mailing list in advance. ;)

Born in China, I immigrated to Canada during the college time to pursue studies in Integrative Biology. I am a Canadian with a globalist heart, wishing for a harmonious biosphere for all lifeforms (including all human).
I have many hobbies: meditation, iNaturalisting (of course includes birding😉),  dancing, painting, snorkelling, hiking, camping, trail running, snow shoeing, beach volleyball, soccer, and lots other outdoor sports.
